Brenda MacIntyre

Region: Ontario

Born in Calgary and raised in B.C., Brenda moved to Toronto in 1985 and became known as rap artist "Special Ice". Florida's Moods International Records was looking for fresh hip hop talent. The result: Brenda a.k.a. Special Ice's first hit single "Non Stopping Hip Hopping" neck in neck with Aretha Franklin's "Ain't Nobody Ever Love You", with high rotation on North Miami's Top 40 station WPOW 96FM. Brenda's 2nd single "Rock A Talk" appeared on Juno Award winning CD "The Gathering" (Attic Records). Brenda has opened for best-selling authors Shakti Gawain, Dr. Masaru Emoto and Gregg Braden, and appeared at The Phoenix, Ontario Place, The Opera House and other venues. From 1999 to 2005, Brenda led Spirit Wind and her latest solo release is "Thunder Mountain Healing Songs". Brenda's compelling voice and Aboriginal drumming connect you to your personal power.
